Soldier With Children

HISTORY

The American Legion was formed in 1919 by a group of World War I veterans to provide support for their fellow service members, address issues with troop morale, and help veterans reintegrate into civilian life. Its initial goals were to preserve the memories of their service, provide relief and employment assistance, and advocate for the rights and benefits of veterans. The organization grew to become a patriotic and community-focused group that also focuses on youth development, national security, and civic engagement

Membership
